On Nov/11/2006 I observed a nice high moon halo display in Switzerland. Visible was a bright circumscribed halo and a infralateral or circumhorizon arc.
Am I the only one wondering why the bottom of the halo is so much better defined than the top? Mark, was that typical throughout the display? And how long did the display last? Thanks.
Dear Walt, I took the photos from 3:36 to 3:48 UTC. The bottom is better defined on all images during this 12 minute time periode. Then the whole display started fading out from the top of the halo. The clouds moved from NNW to SSE.

Seems like 9 halo, but can't be sure. Martin has the same thing.
VálaszTörlésThe Bates Motel on the left looks great.
